On September 1, 2024, the memorial day of our venerable educational patriarch, Amarar A.R. Ramaswamy, the A.R.R. Trust, and Madurai Aravind Eye Hospital collaborated to organize a comprehensive free eye treatment check-up camp at our ARR Matriculation High School campus. It was commenced at 8 am and concluded at 2 pm. Secretary Mr. A.M. Vaidyanaathan presided over the camp with sagacity and compassion. The doctors were felicitated by the Secretary. Mrs. Sukhamala Vaidyanaathan, the esteemed Chairman of ARR Schools, inaugurated the camp by lighting the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the illumination of hope for those seeking ocular care.
A staggering 526 individuals from the Kumbakonam vicinity participated in and benefited from this altruistic initiative.

The camp offered an array of complimentary services, including:

Comprehensive ocular examinations
Expert counseling
Medications dispensed gratuitously
Diagnosis and treatment for a myriad of eye afflictions, such as:
Cataracts
Lacrimation
Diabetes mellitus
Myopia
Hyperopia
Macular degeneration

Additionally, 87 individuals were referred to Madurai Aravind Hospital for complimentary eye surgery, as advised by the erudite medical team, while 204 beneficiaries received complimentary spectacles, enhancing their visual acuity.

This camp stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Amarar A.R. Ramaswamy and the unwavering commitment of ARR Schools to serving the community with empathy and dedication.
